The Turbaco Farmers’ Market will be held this Sunday, November 8, 2026, at the Plaza 90 shopping center. It will run from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with fresh products, rural businesses, and a food showcase.

Who will take part at Plaza 90

The Turbaco Mayor’s Office invited residents to take part in the gathering, which will bring together farmers from Cañaveral, San José de Chiquito, and the Los Volcanes area, as well as various farmers’ organizations.

The announced products include fruits, vegetables, and meats brought directly from the countryside. Farmers will sell their products directly to the public. There will also be rural businesses and a food showcase.

The market’s history in Turbaco

The market has also been held in the main square. At a previous edition, about 40 families sold their products. The Mayor’s Office and the Municipal Agricultural Technical Assistance Unit, Umata, organized that gathering.

According to Umata Director Xiomara Marrugo, that was the fifth market. Producers from Turbaco and its rural districts took part, along with organizations from Turbana, María la Baja, Santa Rosa de Lima, and Cartagena’s Zapatero community.

In addition to fruits and vegetables, that edition offered farm eggs, cassava, plantains, yams, corn, coconut, rice, panela, and honey. There were also ornamental and natural plants.

That market was supported by the Bolívar Governor’s Office, the Cartagena Chamber of Commerce, and the National Navy. Marrugo emphasized that farmers were able to sell without intermediaries.

Markets in previous years

Farmers’ markets were already being announced in Turbaco in 2021. An ethnic, cultural, and agricultural entrepreneurship fair that included a farmers’ market was announced for December 19 of that year in the municipal square.

The 2021 invitation included small-producer associations from Cañaveral, Aguas Prietas, and San José de Chiquito, as well as crafts and cultural activities. The event this November 8, 2026, will now bring the gathering with rural producers to the Plaza 90 shopping center.
