The Turbaco Mayor’s Office reported that the October 31 Halloween celebration passed without public order disturbances. The municipal report highlighted assistance for families and the checkpoints set up at the entrances to the municipality.
The operation included more than 60 National Police officers. Marine Corps personnel and Municipal Traffic units joined that deployment to support security and traffic flow.
The authorities’ presence was concentrated in various parts of Turbaco while children and families were out. The stated purpose was to prevent risky situations and help the celebration run smoothly.
Checkpoints in Coco Frío and at the toll plaza
Two of the security checkpoints were in Coco Frío and at the toll plaza at the entrance to Turbaco. Each checkpoint had 15 uniformed officers assigned to verification and preventive checks.
These checkpoints were part of the road safety operation and assistance for residents and visitors. The municipal administration considered that the checks contributed to a quiet day.
The local hospital’s report
Nasly Camacho Rosso, director of the ESE Hospital Local de Turbaco, reported that no emergencies or unusual situations related to Halloween were recorded during the day.
Mayor Claudia Espinosa Puello, for her part, highlighted coordination among the institutions. She also said there had been ongoing communication with authorities in neighboring municipalities to strengthen security and response capacity.
The mayor acknowledged residents’ behavior during the celebration. The report released on November 2 referred to Halloween night and the measures adopted to assist during that event.
On a different date, in the early hours of Monday, November 2, a fight in Juan XXIII left a young man dead. That incident occurred after the celebration covered by the municipal report.
